A Trifecta of Golf Awards for Kinloch Club Golf Course, New Zealand
Kinloch awarded ‘Best Golf Resort Australia/New Zealand’
Taupo, New Zealand (October 2019)
The Kinloch Club Golf Course, New Zealand’s only
Jack Nicklaus 18-hole Signature Golf Course, adds yet again to its awards by being recognised by a select team of New Zealand Golf Professionals year on year.
The Kinloch Clubs most recent awards are:
- 2019: #1 public playable Golf Course in New Zealand by a select team of New Zealand Golf Professionals year on year
- 2018: USA Golf Digest Editors’ Choice Award and ‘Best Golf Course in Australia/New Zealand’.
- 2019: #3 in 50 Golf Courses – Golf Digest
One of the golfing world’s most prestigious accolades, the award takes into consideration not just the course quality but also accommodation. Kinloch Manor & Villas, the accommodation for the course, has been awarded Winner Supreme, New Zealand Architecture Awards in two categories, plus it is the only Jack Nicklaus designed course in New Zealand.
The course is a golf lover ‘utopia experience’ and without question is just one of the most significant reasons The Kinloch Club has seen a 50% increase in golfers in the past year. In part this is also due to the opening of the new luxury on-site Kinloch Manor & Villas that offers accommodation spaces of junior suites, with 1 and 2 bedroom villas – the lodge bar and restaurant, spa, tennis courts and swimming pool – this all ensures golfers to the Kinloch Club now have a full resort style experience.
The perfectionist inspired design of the course designed by Jack Nicklaus is often compared to the classic links courses in both Scotland and Ireland, however, many well-travelled golfers will instead witness traditional New Zealand scenes looking across a world-class championship Par 72 greens positioned between panoramic views of Lake Taupo, New Zealand’s largest fresh-water lake and the natural beauty of rugged rural farmland.
Andrew Cullen, Manager of Kinloch Manor & Villas said of the recent Golf Digest award,
«The Kinloch Club continually strives to improve its high standards in the pursuit of excellence. To share this award with other high-ranking golf courses in New Zealand is a testament to the hard work and dedication invested by our staff to be in the position to offer our guests a level of service that is second to none. We are extremely proud to be recognised as such by Golf Digest given that its awards are some of, if not the most respected in the golf industry globally«.
