Living Life On The Wild Side

Having Made Birdie on the 18th – Now experience three new ‘Adrenalin Pumping Activities.’

During 2017, discerning corporate adventurers who now demand indulgent comfort far beyond the usual have had something exciting to experience at New Zealand’s newest uber-luxury lodge, The Lodge at Kinloch. Located in the scenic heartland of this North Island adventure region, the Kinloch Club has introduced some wild outdoor adventures as part of the focal point of every luxurious stay, every day, with three new adrenalin pumping activities to wake up to.

As a Kinloch Club guest you can now ‘step into’ some heart pumping adventures including hiking the rugged and remote volcanoes on the Tongariro Crossing, one of the world’s most famous and gratifying lace-your boot-challenges. At the Kinloch Club they’ve divided the TONGARIRO CROSSING TWO WAYS: a self-guided hike and the other part guided with heli-transfers – yes, the full works! In addition guests can choose white-knuckle jet boating, white-water rafting, blue-sky diving, and breath-stealing bungy jumping or combine all four mega-adventures on an unforgettably wild-day-out, what the Kinloch Club call: FOUR PLAY ADRENALIN DAYS as you’ll get to participate in all four adventures in one day.

As a fly fisherman myself, what’s more exciting than landing the CATCH OF A LIFETIME, a superb trophy trout in a secluded, wilderness spot with a guide and a gourmet picnic packed full of Kinloch estates produce and a bottle of award winning New Zealand wine . . . unless it’s asking the Kinloch Club’s head chef to cook your trout for you after a round of heart-stopping Jack Nicklaus golf.

Taupo also hosts IRONMAN New Zealand, making it a year-round hub for multi-sport athletes, tri-athletes and mountain bikers. Dedicated bike trails include the Great Lake Trail and the International Mountain Biking Association (IMBA) acclaims Taupo, a Silver Level Ride Centre.

Whether adventure means wild, pumping outdoor activity, the subtle art of fly-fishing, international standard golf or luxuriating indoors in indulgent comfort, The Lodge at Kinloch is open for Wild Adventure and Uber Luxury – every day of the year.

The Lodge’s wild adventures are as spectacular as the welcoming bar, gourmet restaurant and exclusive accommodations – sparkling one-bedroom junior suites and luxurious one and two bedroom villas, with landscaped views over the golf course to Lake Taupo.

Perfectly placed in a spectacular setting above Lake Taupo, and in the heartland of this internationally recognised adventure and wilderness playground, the new lodge at The Kinloch Club also features New Zealand’s only Jack Nicklaus Signature 18-hole Golf Course.

More About Adrenalin Activities at The Kinloch Club:

The Tongariro Crossing – 2 Ways
1. Two-night package inclusive breakfast, dinner and pre-dinner drinks both days plus freestyle Tongariro Crossing hike on one day, gourmet picnic lunch with water x 2 (suitable for a day’s big hike) – plus car or heli transfers to and from the crossing.
2. Two-night package inclusive breakfast, dinner and pre-dinner drinks both days plus on one day a Tongariro Volcano scenic tour with exclusive alpine landing (and champagne): 1 hour scenic flight and 15-minute Alpine landing. Departing lodge, fly south over Great Lake Taupo to view the Tongariro Crossing and thermal activity of the newly formed Te Maari Crater. Continue over the Blue Lake and Emerald Lakes to the summit of Mt Ngauruhoe, famously known as Mt Doom from the Lord of the Rings Trilogy. From here, climb to the top of the snow-capped peak, Mt Ruapehu, which is the highest mountain in the North Island of New Zealand. Enjoy aerial views of the North Island’s only ski fields and panoramic views of the Central Plateau. Return to the lodge via the lake-front and Huka Falls.

Four-Play Adrenalin Days
Two-night package inclusive breakfast, dinner and pre-dinner drinks both days plus on one day of activities. Inclusive is FOUR ways to sort the adults from the kids – but you do them all. On the same day: 30 minutes of jet boating, including 360 turns right up to Huka Falls – and then your feet rarely touch the ground. An adventurous helicopter jaunt swoops directly over Wairakei thermal mud and geysers, a bungy jump drops 47 metres over the Waikato River and then it’s a skydive from at least 12,000 ft. Hard to beat that for a single day’s excitement.

Catch Of A Lifetime
Two-night package inclusive breakfast, dinner and pre-dinner drinks both days plus on one day of activities: Kinloch knows stunning secluded spots for world-class trout fishing. An expert local guide, gourmet Estate-to-Plate picnic, professional fishing equipment and road or helicopter travel are included. Return your big catch to the waters or bring it back for the Head Chef to cook. Bragging rights also included.
